Remove Gates AND Prevent Running.
Dont know if this has been posted yet, but here my idea to remove the annoying gates and prevent running.
Instead of beating the game then moving on to next char and do everything over again, why doesnt ANet just make it so once you reach a place (ie vizunah square) the gate is open for ALL chars on your account. You still have to do the missions and some of the primary quests, but I think this would be much better.

This would be very hard to implement. Consider a party of veterans and newbs. Who controls wether the gate will be there?

Just like in some quests. If someone doesnt have the quest in your group, the quest wont work. If someone doesnt have a gate unlocked, its locked.

If someone in your party doesn't have a quest it still works. The person that doesn't have it can't get the reward and has to redo it. But everthing in the quest appears. Also if you mean that gate is locked for some people and open for others what would happen if someone zoned? Its to late for this to be added to factions, Although I agree that Anet shouldn't force you to follow the exact storyline for every character you use.

yeah ive posted this on 2 or 3 threads in mammoth rants, but as yet it has fallen on deaf ears.

and it would not be that hard to implement, you base gates being open on account not character, simple as. if some noob hasnt gone through it yet, it does not allow you to go through at all. you have to go back to nearst town and run through on your own.
yeah still annoying... but at least the damn things r open when you have been through them once.

There's nobody in Cantha to do any of the quests/missions. I blame the locked gates for that. It's easyt to get a team in the ghetto but it's hard to find a decent team or even other players in the forests.

Maybe because the leader have the quest. If the Leader doesnt have it, nothing will appear.

There a message which its said one of our member in the team is not qualify on what it is waiting ahead and can't zone in before you enter. That stop to zone in the area
Its to late for this to be added to factions, Although I agree that Anet shouldn't force you to follow the exact storyline for every character you use.

The thing with the quests is that some quests override other quests. As in if you have a certain quest on (like the titan quests) it will change other quests you have active or it will make those other quests not even appear.

Lol. It's not the gates. Everyone is farming factions, for there alliance or for amber and jade.
